I am a proud GPCI board member. I also attended the exclusive annual GPCI reception for GPCs. How did I get here? Why are you here?
Sometimes, professional development takes the form of mentoring or offering guidance during tough times. Lauren is passionate about sharing professional development opportunities, facilitating learning activities, and mentoring professionals in marketing, fundraising, and career development.
I had an exceptionally knowledgeable mentor who ran an office engaged in multiple types of fundraising activities: endowment (major gifts), special project fundraising (grant writing), annual fund (with a corporate slant), membership, database administration, special events, and volunteer management. My mind was a sponge.
She was the best mentor. She let me read the application, the award letter, and the reporting and management requirements. She loved her job, and it showed as she explained every intricate piece to me so that I could understand “why.” In time, I learned to love her job, too. I could be just like her.
