Originally known as the American Association of Grant Professionals Foundation, the organization became the Grant Professionals Foundation in 2010.

The “call out” versus “call in” has become a subject of debate on social media, where “call out” influencers are gaining high popularity creating content intended to directly challenge or criticize others (often with good reason – calling out discrimination, etc. – Rather than “calling out” a mistake, we need to “call in” the individual.

I did this for about a year when my skills were spotted by other members of the staff, and I was invited to apply to work jointly with the fundraising and media relations offices. If you do like GPA and you join, you should investigate the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI). This ultimately led to full-time employment.
