They had received a generous $25,000 gift for their museum. I was overjoyed for them! Initially, the plan was to meet with the donor, thank for the previous gift, showcase the impact of her previous contributions and highlight new opportunities within that department.

Blackbaud Settles With California For $6.75 Million

Blackbaud has now settled with all 50 states and the District of Columbia regarding the May 2020 data breach which has cost the firm millions in legal costs and fines. Blackbaud settled with the State of California for $6.75 million, which is still subject to court approval. That brings the total to $56.25 million to settle with the states and another $3 million to settle with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Giving Flat For Q1 of 2024, More Give Locally

Giving hit its annual trough during mid-February, with all forms of giving declining except volunteering, which dropped to low levels in December and early January then gradually increased throughout February. However, there was an associated drop in the percentage of people who were solicited. In general, though, all forms of generosity held steady during the first quarter of 2024, including the percentage of people giving monetary donations.
