How do you fight and lead for change during scary times?

Clairification

For most of us, we’ve perhaps never been in more perilous times during our lifetimes. For a host of reasons. And it’s not just in the United States. Strong Proposals Start with Asking 11 Internal Questions

The NonProfit Times

Albert Einstein once said: “If you cannot explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” As grant directors, managers, and writers you need to understand what you are writing about in your proposals, especially if you aren’t involved directly in the project or program development. If you don’t understand it in writing, potential funders won’t understand it in review either.

Concentration of Nonprofit Giving Disenfranchises Civilians

The NonProfit Times

The nonprofit community’s ongoing trend of fewer donors providing increasing amounts of funding and volunteer hours is disturbing. Observations

HSF House

It is my second week in Kathmandu and I’ve noticed some social differences. First off, the people seem to be more community-oriented; they are more focused on the betterment of the community than being better than their neighbors. The women are very family-focused. Through certain writing assignments, it seems their day consists of prayer, cooking, cleaning, and teaching their children.

Unlocking equity by investing in broad outreach and deep community organizing

Candid

Foundation program officers and government officials can unintentionally limit the impact of community-based organizations by funding them to serve only a specific demographic group and a narrow set of activities. Without the flexibility to pivot to new strategies and broad engagement among community members, organizations risk falling into a cycle where they only treat the symptoms of problems instead of tackling the root causes that underlie their mission.

It is celebrated every year through the reenactment of old traditions of honoring Inti, the sun god in the Inca religion.
