Planning was overwhelming, but the conference app allowed me to overlap conflicting events, so I could decide later. I felt honored when they invited me to serve as a Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) Ambassador, which will allow me to encourage and support others on their journey to GPC certification.
One of my first tasks was to help promote & attend the Chapters Mid-Atlantic Conference where I met chapter members face to face. GPCI Competency #7: Knowledge of practices and services that raise the level of professionalism of grant developers.
The Foundation collaborates closely with the Grant Professional Association (GPA) and the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) to support and build the grants profession.
I am a proud GPCI board member. Our Chapter is holding its annual conference in a couple of months. Scrolling through the GPA’s website I learned about the Grant Professionals Certification (GPC) offered by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI). I also attended the exclusive annual GPCI reception for GPCs.
This year’s conference is in Denver, Colorado (and online), October 30th through November 2nd. Professional Development: The pinnacle of my grants career came in 2017 when I became credentialed as a GPC through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI). Every year, I discover new ways to volunteer for GPA and GPCI.
I was notified at the GPA Annual Conference in Baltimore that I had won the scholarship. There are named scholarships provided by specific donors, as well as general scholarships to pay for the GPC exam made possible by individual donations, GPCI, and GPF. Second, the GPCI and GPA communities are amazing.
Whether you attended online or in person, if you are similar to me, the 2023 Grant Summit delivered a knowledge-packed four days of learning, discovering new resources, meeting amazing people, and if you were in person, enjoying Foundant caramels and the first-ever GPCI sponsored dance party! Watch recorded sessions you missed.
The GrantSummit scholarships cover the conference registration only, and the scholarship recipient is responsible for all travel and lodging expenses. In 2023, GPCI presented three CMP awards and 11 GPC TM Exam scholarships to recipients. With over 50 sessions, there is a workshop to fit the needs of every attendee.
In early November 2023, I attended GrantSummit (formerly known as the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) Annual Conference) in Kansas City, Missouri. This multi-day conference is the premier professional development event for grant professionals in the U.S. Supercharge your professional development.
I like to head into conference week with a grasp of the conference schedule, some sessions I would like to attend, and maybe a restaurant or two in mind to grab a meal with colleagues. Prior to conference, you should have received an email invitation to the GrantSummit virtual platform. Get your bids in by 4:15 p.m.
