This past year, I have been diving into my career goals with a renewed focus, and the GrantSummit 2024 was a key step on that path. Then, with the support of the Grants Professional Foundation, I earned my grant professional certified (GPC) credential. The day’s highlight was an invite-only reception for GPCs, hosted by GPCI.

OMB developed a comprehensive guide for the Federal government’s Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for federal awards that became effective in 2014. The most recent updates are for 2024. The OMB’s recently approved revisions will go into effect on October 1, 2024. What updates were made?

Do you have the goal of obtaining your GPC TM soon? In many cases, the scholarship award also covers the local GPA chapter allowing members to access monthly network and learning opportunities. Scholarships are also available for current GPCs renewing their credentials through the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP Renewal).

When the email from the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) came at the beginning of 2024 congratulating me on twenty years of membership, I called one of my fellow Gen-X colleagues and joked, “I don’t know whether to feel exuberant about a career milestone or join the AARP.” In many ways, 2004 doesn’t feel so very long ago.

Multi-phase competitions may provide monetary awards to fund during subsequent phases that compensate awardees for their work, effort, and resources throughout the process. Does the size of the award match the effort, resources, and expertise needed for the project? Maybe it’s a new way of doing business or a project you want to test.

A day originally started by Danny Blitch, GPC and a peer group of passionate grant professionals working with the Grant Professionals Association , it has become so much more than a day on the calendar (although, it is amazing that it has been accepted as an official “Day of the Year” starting in 2024!).
