This year’s #GivingTuesday saw a dramatic increase in nonprofit organizations promoting the movement as a national day of giving. Online sites, email campaigns, and social media had a much bigger emphasis on #GivingTuesday than in 2012. Online giving on #GivingTuesday 2013 was up 90% compared to 2012. GivingTuesday Trends.

According to the latest data from the Fundraising Effectiveness Project , nonprofits continue to face a concerning decline in donors and donations. Nonprofits struggled to acquire new donors as well. The decline in donors has been a steady trend since 2012, with a 19% overall decrease. And new donor contributions decreased by 8.7%

Much more in paid digital approaches. Yet, there’s still not enough attention on monthly donor retention.

That’s how many dollars were collected with checkout programs in 2012. Here’s what businesses and nonprofits need to know about checkout programs. 358 million. Checkout programs are what I call point-of-sale programs, but I kind of like David Hessekiel’s term better. He found 63 of them. These programs really work.
