This past fall GrantStation and PhilanTech conducted the third semi-annual informal survey of nonprofits, The State of Grantseeking Fall 2011. Between mid-August and early October 2011, 928 nonprofits of various sizes, in different geographies, representing diverse issue areas completed the survey online.

Despite many challenges, nonprofits retain a sense of optimism about the next six months according to the survey results cited in the State of Grantseeking 2011 (published in November 2011).
